How Maryn handles your data.
Last updated: May 4, 2026
The short version
Maryn is a desktop app that runs entirely on your computer. Your business data never leaves your machine. This policy explains what we collect on this website, what the app does (and doesn’t do) with your information, and how third-party services like our payment processor fit in.
We believe privacy shouldn’t require a law degree to understand, so we wrote this in plain language.
What we collect
On this website (maryn.app):
- Your name and email address if you sign up for our Windows waitlist or newsletter, via our email form provider (MailerLite)
- Support emails you send to us directly
- Basic web analytics — we do not currently use any analytics service on this website. No tracking pixels, no behavioral analytics
Inside the Maryn app:
Nothing. Maryn is an offline-first Mac application. All of your business data, files, and entries stay on your local computer. Maryn has no telemetry, no analytics, no cloud sync, and no account login. We never see what you put into the app.
What we don’t collect
We want to be explicit about this:
- No app usage data or behavioral analytics from inside Maryn
- No business data you enter into the app — income, expenses, plans, notes, none of it
- No client or contact information you store in Maryn
- No financial data entered into the Money tab or any other tab
- No files, images, or documents you add to the app
- No telemetry, crash reports, or diagnostics from the app
Your data is yours. It lives on your computer and nowhere else.
Third-party services
A few services help us run the business side of Maryn. Here’s who they are and what they do:
- Payhip — handles orders and delivery of the Maryn download. Payhip receives your name, email, and payment information when you purchase
- Stripe — processes credit card payments through Payhip. Stripe handles your card details directly; we never see your full card number
- MailerLite — manages our Windows waitlist and any email updates. Stores your email address and first name if provided
- Apple notarization — a one-time validation Apple performs on the Maryn app to verify it’s safe to run on your Mac. This is a standard macOS security process and involves no ongoing data collection
Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We chose them because they’re reputable, widely used, and don’t do anything unexpected with customer data.
Cookies
This website uses minimal cookies:
- Email signup form — our email form provider (MailerLite) may set cookies when you interact with the waitlist or newsletter signup form. These are functional cookies that help the form work properly
We do not use analytics cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party advertising cookies. There is no cookie consent banner because there’s almost nothing to consent to.
Your rights
Regardless of where you live, you have the right to:
- Access any personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your data from our systems
- Opt out of marketing emails at any time (every email includes an unsubscribe link)
To make any of these requests, email support@maryn.app. We’ll respond as quickly as we can — we’re a one-person company, so please allow a day or two.
How long we keep things
We keep order records as long as needed for tax and legal purposes (typically 7 years for tax compliance). Email addresses on our newsletter list are kept until you unsubscribe. Support email threads are kept indefinitely unless you request deletion.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change, we’ll update this page. The “last updated” date at the top will always reflect the most recent version. We won’t make material changes without updating this page first.
