The basics
These are the terms for using Maryn. We’ve kept them simple.
By purchasing or using Maryn, you agree to these terms. If anything here doesn’t sit right with you, reach out — we’d rather talk it through than hide behind fine print.

What you’re buying
Maryn is a desktop application for macOS. (Windows is coming June 2026 — if you buy now, the Windows version is included free when it ships.)
The price is $197, once. That includes the full app, all current features, and free updates for the foreseeable future. There are no subscriptions, no upsells, and no “Pro tier.”
“Once” really means once.
Your license to use Maryn
When you purchase Maryn, you get a personal, non-transferable license to install and use the app on your own Mac(s) for your own business.
What you can do:
- Install Maryn on any Mac you personally own and use
- Use it for your business, your side projects, your creative work — whatever you need
What you can’t do:
- Redistribute, resell, or share your license with others
- Decompile, reverse-engineer, or modify the app
- Use Maryn as the basis for building a competing product
This license is for you personally. It can’t be transferred or shared.
Refund policy
30 days, no questions asked. If Maryn isn’t right for you, email support@maryn.app within 30 days of your purchase and you’ll get a full refund. No forms to fill out, no “reason” required. We want happy customers, not stuck ones.
Refunds are processed through Payhip and Stripe and typically take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement.
Free updates
All updates to the version of Maryn you bought are free, forever. Bug fixes, new features within your major version, quality-of-life improvements — all included.
If we ever release a major new version with significant new architecture (think a hypothetical Maryn 2.0), that might be a separate purchase. But updates within your current major version are always free, and we’ll never charge you to fix a bug.
If Maryn stops being developed
Maryn lives on your Mac. Your data lives on your Mac. If active development ever stops, the app you bought keeps working. Forever. There’s no server to shut down, no cloud account to deactivate, no subscription to cancel. You’d simply stop receiving new updates — the existing features will continue to work exactly as designed.
This is one of the reasons Maryn was built offline-first. Your purchase doesn’t depend on our uptime.
Acceptable use
We trust our customers, and this section is mostly common sense:
- Don’t use Maryn for anything illegal
- Don’t attempt to harm Maryn, other users, or the company
- Don’t try to circumvent license protections
We reserve the right to revoke a license in cases of clear abuse. This is rare and would only happen in genuinely egregious situations — not because someone wrote us a grumpy support email.
Disclaimers and liability
Maryn is provided “as-is.” We work hard on quality — we test thoroughly, we fix bugs promptly, we care deeply about the experience — but we can’t guarantee perfection.
We’re not liable for business losses, lost data, missed opportunities, or other indirect damages arising from use of the app. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Maryn ($197).
Translation: we’ll always do our best, and we’re not trying to dodge responsibility — but we can’t be held responsible for things outside our control.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA. Any disputes will be resolved in Virginia.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll post the updated version here with a new effective date. For material changes, we’ll do our best to notify known customers via email.
